Ashley Longshore — Fragrance

I used AI as a creative collaborator to design a collection of four one-of-a-kind perfume bottles for New York–based artist Ashley Longshore, capturing her iconic maximalist, feminist Pop Art aesthetic. Known for her unapologetically bold visual language, vibrant palettes, and empowering, larger-than-life narratives, Longshore’s work provided rich inspiration for a collection that feels both glamorous and rebellious.

Each bottle in the series translates her signature motifs into sculptural form. Oversized, multifaceted gemstones—reminiscent of the dazzling jewels that frequently appear in her paintings—are reimagined as striking architectural elements, catching and refracting light to create a sense of extravagance and drama. Character-driven flora and fauna, infused with personality and attitude, wrap around the bottles in vivid, expressive compositions, blurring the line between functional object and collectible art piece.

Bold typography, another hallmark of Longshore’s practice, is integrated directly into the forms, transforming empowering phrases into dimensional design features rather than mere surface decoration. The result is a quartet of perfume bottles that feel like miniature monuments to confidence, individuality, and excess—celebrating scent not just as a fragrance, but as an extension of identity and artistic expression.
